Santiago, June 20, 2024. In less than a decade, the company that today celebrates 9 years since its arrival in Chile, not only transformed the market, WOM became a culture with a unique and incomparable identity. And it is thanks to the courage of the first WOMers who dared to listen to the real needs of customers, that today in Chile: “everyone is more WOM than they think” regardless of the company they have.

The operator became a unique case in the region, not only because of its disruptive advertising, but also because it dared and revolutionized the industry by lowering the price per Giga by 95% and the price of plans by 40%. WOM broke with the status quo of the time and is the company that put its shirt on for its customers, injecting real competition and democratizing access to communications for everyone from Arica to Punta Arenas.

This has allowed the company to become the 2nd operator in mobile connections (3G/4G/5G) and to occupy 25.6% of the market share. Today 8 million customers are more WOM than ever and 11 million people are more WOM than they think: customers have a better tariff and receive a better service experience. WOM introduced high standards, always putting customers and its more than 2 thousand employees at the center.

WOM put people at the center, giving priority to customer service. It also raised its voice with passion and courage on issues that were taboo at the time and was not afraid to make visible the bad practices that occurred in different industries. In these nine years, WOM’s contribution has meant the promotion of a fairer market for the benefit not only of our customers, but of all people.

The company will continue to provide the best service not only to become the No. 1 telco in Chile, but also to become the best company in the country. WOM will also continue to strengthen its proximity to people, ensuring the best digital experience and usability.

Connecting with customers and listening to their needs are not words, they are concrete actions that have led WOM to be recognized with the first place in different national and international experience awards, among which stand out: PXI, BCX, ALCO, ICC, Ookla, among others, and with the first position in portability for more than 80 months.

 

A network that does not stop growing

In less than a decade, WOM has increased 6 times its own antennas and today has the largest 5G network in Chile, providing coverage from Arica to Punta Arenas. WOM’s network not only democratized access to connectivity, but also turned Chile into a benchmark in telecommunications and an innovation hub for the potential offered by 5th generation technology.

Thanks to the deployment of its network, in 2023 WOM connected 101 rural schools, benefiting more than 42 thousand students throughout the country, and this year it expects to reach another 100 educational establishments. In addition to the above, besides providing free internet access in isolated areas, WOM has also provided equipment and digital literacy programs so that teachers not only have access to the network, but also obtain the greatest possible benefit for students and the community.
