According to the balance carried out between January and June on the smartphones most preferred by people in Chile, the three most demanded devices are: Motorola Moto G54, Redmi 12 5G and Honor X8a.

Santiago, July 2024. It is no news that customers in Chile are big consumers of mobile technology, since currently, according to Subtel data, there are more than 26 million cell phones in the country. In simple terms, there are more cell phones than inhabitants. However, the novelty is that year after year people change their preferences and choose to renew their models: five brands are competing to be the best-selling so far in 2024.

Each semester, consumer demands become more complex as the industry does too. One demonstration of this is the demand for 5G service in the country, where customers are looking for the best possible connectivity. Currently at the market level, around 70% of the mobile devices sold in Chile already have 5G technology.

“We have noticed two phenomena happening in parallel. On the one hand, the consumer has become increasingly demanding and demands more functions and attributes in smartphones and, on the other hand, manufacturers have equipped their low and mid-range products with more technology. Also, people prefer devices with larger screens, batteries that last longer, better RAM and a good camera,” said Felipe Ayala, WOM’s Terminals Manager.

Here is the list of the 10 best-selling phones in WOM (January to June 2024):

Motorola Moto G54 5G
