This initiative is added to a series of measures already announced by the company to help people affected by the fires.

February 10, 2023 – The telecommunications company WOM activated a solidarity plan to ensure the connectivity of its customers affected by the forest fires in the regions of Ñuble, Biobío and La Araucanía.

This plan, available from today, will allow WOM customers who have their basic emergency card to access a free plan that includes 300 minutes, 100 text messages and 50 GB with 512 kbps navigation for 90 days from the date of activation.

“From WOM we always seek to be on the side of our customers, and even more so at a time of emergency in which fires are generating a strong impact in central and southern Chile. That is why we decided to give this free plan to those who need it most at this time when connectivity is key,” said Niklas Lind, CMO of WOM.

This plan will be available to prepaid and postpaid customers who request it and present their basic emergency card from the Ministry of Social Development. The application is made through our website (plansolidario.wom.cl) and once activated, the customer will receive a notification to their e-mail or cell phone. Applications must be submitted by March 31.

This initiative is in addition to a series of measures already announced by the company to help those affected by the fires. During the first week of the emergency, the operator released for seven days the voice traffic and use of Whatsapp for all its prepaid customers in the affected regions, in addition to reactivating the service to those users in those areas who were suspended for arrears.

On the other hand, WOM continues to support other companies with intermittency in their services via National Emergency Automatic Roaming (RAN), sharing its networks with other telecommunications companies in locations without coverage or in emergency situations, establishing a new collaborative scheme to provide continuity of service to all users.
