Santiago, 16 June 2025. Mundo Telecomunicaciones and WOM Chile have announced a major agreement between the two companies that will allow Mundo to expand its offering and coverage in the mobile services market, thanks to WOM’s mobile network infrastructure operating on 3G and 4G frequencies, under the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) model.

With the signing of this agreement, Mundo customers will be able to use WOM’s entire network of proprietary antennas, as the deal includes service provision in all areas where WOM has coverage. Furthermore, the agreement will continue to broaden access to connectivity and promote market competition for the benefit of consumers.

“Our main concern is our customers, and we continue working every day to improve the quality of Mundo Móvil’s service. This agreement guarantees us broader coverage and the opportunity to seek the best rates in order to provide our customers with the best offer in the market”, said Claudio Díaz, CTO of Mundo Telecomunicaciones.

It is worth noting that Mundo plays an important role in the MVNO model, as it has demonstrated sustained growth nationwide, with a customer base now exceeding 170,000.

“We are proud to welcome Mundo Telecomunicaciones as a new business partner and to support them in the challenge of expanding their offering into the mobile segment as a new player in the market. We thank Mundo for placing their trust in our service quality and customer experience, and we reaffirm our commitment to promoting competition for the benefit of people across the country”, said Andrés Ok, COO of WOM Chile.

This agreement marks a milestone in the telecommunications industry, as it demonstrates the value of creating synergies between different players for the benefit of customers. It also confirms that there is significant market demand for shared infrastructure in the mobile and fibre sectors. Currently, WOM has the most extensive 5G network deployment in the country, while Mundo is recognised as the fibre operator with the fastest internet speeds in Latin America.
