  • In the social sphere, the recertification of the Chilean Standard 3262 stands out, confirming the company’s commitment to equal opportunities. In addition, the company continues to contribute to reducing the digital divide through its Connected Schools and WOM-Duoc UC Scholarship programs.
  • In environmental matters, during the year, WOM implemented an Energy Management System (EMS), certified under ISO 50.001, in its data centers and antennas.
  • Additionally, the company strengthened its corporate governance with independent board members and the complete renewal of its Board of Directors following the change of ownership in March 2025.

May 20, 2025 – For the fourth consecutive year, WOM published its Sustainability Report, which outlines the progress made in 2024 in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas. In the report, WOM reaffirms its commitment to sustainability through various initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental footprint, promoting gender equity and diversity, and helping to close the digital divide.

“In July, we will celebrate 10 years since our arrival in the country—a decade in which we have contributed to democratizing access to connectivity and reducing inequalities. With this report, we demonstrate that sustainability is a fundamental pillar of our entire operation, involving our employees, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Our report aims to showcase our ability to integrate ESG pillars into the development of Chile’s digital economy,” said Eduardo Jara, VP of Corporate Affairs at WOM.

In the environmental area, WOM implemented an Energy Management System (EMS), certified under ISO 50.001, in its data centers and antennas. This system enables greater energy efficiency, reduced operating costs for the company, and a decrease in its carbon footprint. Additionally, the operator set its first energy target: to reduce the energy intensity of the data center located at its Rosas facilities by 0.3% in 2025, equivalent to a reduction of 21,680 kWh compared to 2024.

In the social sphere, the company achieved recertification for the second consecutive year under the Chilean Standard 3262 from the National Service for Women and Gender Equity, confirming its commitment to equal opportunities, diversity, and the development of a more inclusive culture. It was also recognized for the fourth consecutive year as the best workplace for the LGBTIQ+ community by Pride Connection Chile, in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign’s Global Workplace Equality Program and Fundación Iguales.

Furthermore, the Connected Schools program—an initiative to provide free internet to educational institutions—connected an additional 102 schools across the country, reaching a total of 203 schools, mainly in rural areas. This has impacted over 52,000 students and more than 4,000 teachers nationwide. Additionally, more than 270 teachers were trained in digital tools through a program delivered by NivelA, a Google partner.

Meanwhile, the telecommunications company awarded 100 WOM–Duoc UC Scholarships to university or technical higher education students. The scholarships provide up to five years of connectivity, a tablet, and digital skills training delivered by the Duoc UC School of Computer Science and Telecommunications.

On the financial front, in 2024, WOM voluntarily entered into a financial reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, aiming to ensure operational continuity, protect its employees, and strengthen its financial position. This process concluded a few months ago with new investors joining the company’s ownership, allowing the operator to move forward with greater strength.

In this context, the company strengthened governance with independent board members, who played a key role in ensuring operational continuity during the Chapter 11 process. In March 2025, with the arrival of the Ad Hoc Group as the new controlling group—comprising BlackRock, Amundi Asset Management, Man Group, and Moneda Patria Investments—the Board of Directors was fully renewed, further reinforcing the company’s corporate governance.

Also noteworthy is the recognition by Praxis, which for the fifth consecutive year awarded WOM the Procalidad Award for Best Customer Experience in the telecommunications industry.
