November 26, 2025.- Digital skills, from programming to the use of artificial intelligence, have become highly valuable knowledge for academic, professional, and career development. In this context, WOM reaffirms its ongoing commitment to reducing the digital divide by promoting initiatives to provide greater digital skills to young people, teachers, and entrepreneurs throughout the country, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age.

As part of WOM’s ‘Escuelas Conectadas’ (Connected Schools) program, more than 425 teachers have been trained in digital tools with the aim of supporting the technological transformation of educational establishments and promoting new digital knowledge among students. The content, delivered by the company NivelA, has focused on Google Classroom, G-Suite, and Gemini tools, providing teachers with practical tools that complement and enrich classroom teaching.

“Our commitment is not only to continue democratizing connectivity even further, but also to contribute to greater access to knowledge. These programs seek to open the doors to new opportunities through technology and contribute to equalizing digital education for students, teachers, entrepreneurs, and the entire community,” said Valeria Andía, Sustainability Manager at WOM Chile.

In addition, the operator launched a series of training sessions focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), with the aim of providing essential knowledge for the use of new technologies. These training sessions, in partnership with Duoc UC, attracted around 70 teachers on their first date.

WHAT’S NEXT

According to the study “Citizen AI: What do we know and how much do we use it?”, conducted by WOM together with Cadem, 7 out of 10 people are willing to learn new skills associated with its use or to train themselves to adapt to a work environment with AI. In addition, 48% of people believe that artificial intelligence will have a significant impact on their daily lives in the next 5 years.

In this context, and reaffirming its commitment to bridging the digital divide, WOM continues to promote its training programs. The operator launched the fourth cycle of the Digital Skills Course, aimed at teachers and education students throughout Chile. This new version focuses on the use of artificial intelligence and key Google Workspace tools, seeking to strengthen teaching through more dynamic, collaborative, and innovative methodologies, reaching more than 500 beneficiaries so far this year.

In addition, in order to be a strategic ally in the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the company, through its technology experts, will offer free Artificial Intelligence workshops for entrepreneurs in the cities of Santiago and Chillán and for members of the Community of Solidarity Organizations.
