EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
ABOUT 5G

WHAT IS 5G?

5G is the “fifth generation” of mobile networks that brings higher speeds and better services and operates at higher frequencies which translates into higher bandwidth and faster data transfer. This enables faster downloads, smoother streaming, better browsing experience and greater responsiveness, even in places with high network traffic.
It will also enable progress in digital equity, connecting those areas of Chile that still do not have access to telephony and Internet services.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The technology associated with this mobile network comes hand in hand with new low, medium and high bandwidth spectrums. In other words, thanks to the new spectrums, better upload and download speeds will be achieved, increasing the overall bandwidth in order to achieve higher speeds. This differentiation will favor connection in more populated areas as well as coverage in less populated areas.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 4G AND 5G?

Speed

With 5G technology you can reach an average speed 10 times faster than 4G.

Latency

The network response will tend to be in real time unlike 4G where the time is longer.

With higher speeds of up to 20 Gbps, you can download a full 8k movie in a few seconds.

Faster speed than 3G, with which you can download a movie in minutes.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

Have a 5G compatible device. Have WOM 5G enabled on your device and be within the WOM 5G network coverage area. Be a mobile plan customer or have a WOM prepaid line.

You will be able to continue navigating without problems through the 3G and 4G network. In addition, if you want to navigate through the new network you will have to acquire a 5G compatible cell phone.

No. On the contrary, they are complementary, since WOM's 5G network will favor internet connection in areas that still do not have fiber optics, which directly points to the decentralization of internet access, benefiting more and more people.
