SANTIAGO, September 2026 – WOM Chile today announced a new leadership structure designed to bring a new management focus during this phase. The Board of Directors announced that Chris Bannister is stepping down from his position as Chief Executive Officer and his role as director, effective today.
Along with this change, the Board of Directors will directly assume leadership of WOM’s institutional relations. This role will be led by Board Director Claudio Muñoz, who will represent the company before authorities, regulators, public entities, and other external stakeholders, in coordination with the executive team.
In parallel, Andrés Ok, current Chief Operating Officer, assumes the role of Interim CEO replacing Bannister, with responsibility for operations and day-to-day management.
Claudio Muñoz holds a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering from the University of Chile and brings extensive experience in the telecommunications sector. He developed his career over more than 30 years at Telefónica Group, holding executive positions in Chile and Spain—including heading the corporate client unit for the Americas and the group’s wholesale division—and serving as Chairman of Telefónica Chile between 2010 and April 2018.
Andrés Ok is an economist from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was part of WOM’s founding team and worked at the company during its first eight years, a period in which WOM consolidated its position as the second-largest mobile operator in the country. After serving as CEO of Apex, he returned to WOM in May 2025 as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for leading local operations.
“We thank Chris Bannister, who has been connected to WOM since its entry into the Chilean market in 2015 and led the company through various stages of its development. Today, WOM has a strengthened financial structure, a consolidated executive team, and an active investment plan. This new structure reflects the focus the Board wants to bring to this stage, where the executive team will concentrate entirely on operations and fulfilling company commitments, while the Board directly engages in dialogue with institutional bodies,” said Mauricio Ramos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of WOM Chile.
The Board of Directors has already initiated the search process for the next Chief Executive Officer, focusing on maintaining continuity in WOM’s growth, investment, and consolidation strategy in the Chilean market.
This change occurs during a phase of company consolidation. In March 2025, the company completed its Chapter 11 reorganization process, bringing in new international controlling shareholders and establishing a new corporate governance structure. Since then, it has strengthened its executive team and advanced operational management centered on financial discipline, execution, and investment.
WOM currently serves more than 6 million customers and is the second-largest operator in the Chilean market in mobile connections. It operates a network of approximately 6,500 proprietary cell towers and continues to build out its nationwide infrastructure. With this leadership structure, WOM reaffirms its long-term commitment to Chile and will remain focused on strengthening its operations, executing its investment plan, and contributing to the development of the country’s digital infrastructure and connectivity.
