- The company has launched a program that allows the recycling of small electronic devices—the fastest-growing type of waste in the world.
Among the devices that can be recycled free of charge and easily at its 165 stores, located from Arica to Punta Arenas, are mobile phones, tablets, chargers, headphones, smartwatches, and more.
Chile, April 16, 2026. Electronic waste, known as e-waste, is the fastest-growing waste stream globally. In response to this challenge—driven by an increasingly digital world—WOM announces the launch of a new electronic recycling program, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to sustainability. From now on, all its stores across Chile will feature designated collection points for unused electronic devices.
Among the devices that can be recycled free of charge and in a simple way at the company’s 165 stores nationwide are mobile phones, tablets, chargers, headphones, smartwatches, portable speakers, and even consoles such as the Nintendo Switch. Larger equipment, such as laptops or printers, as well as devices with damaged or swollen batteries, are excluded.
“At WOM, we believe that connectivity also implies responsibility toward the environment. This initiative aims to make it easier for people—whether they are customers or not—to recycle their unused devices in a simple and accessible way, helping reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste in Chile,” said Valeria Andía, Sustainability Manager at WOM.
This program will help give a new life cycle to unused electronic devices, contributing to reducing the amount of technological waste. In this way, the company reinforces its commitment to environmental care as a responsibility toward its customers, communities, and the planet.
