The company was recognized by the organization Todos Reciclamos in the category “Best Sustainable Packaging” for the new design of the packaging of its SIM cards made of 100% recyclable material that can be deposited in any clean point such as paper and cardboard.
“Just as we are concerned about having an efficient operation, we also want to pass on the least amount of waste to our customers. For example, in all our stores the processes are paperless so the use of paper is minimal, we have been reducing the printing of brochures and now with this new packaging of SIM cards we avoid the generation of 42 tons of non-recyclable waste in 2022”, says Valeria Andía, Sustainability Manager of WOM.
WOM changed the packaging of its SIM cards to make it more environmentally friendly. One of the innovations was the elimination of a plastic sheet that made it impossible to recycle and also reduced one side of the envelope, thus reducing by 30% the amount of material used in these packages.
